The 8-week study plan that moved 200 students from borderline to placed

A structured plan for students whose readiness score says "close, but not yet" — built from what actually worked for 200 of them.

If your readiness score puts you in the borderline zone, the good news is that it's usually the fastest gap to close — you don't need to relearn your fundamentals, you need a focused eight weeks. This is the plan we've seen work most consistently.

students tracked from borderline to placed on this plan
1 gap
at a time — not three weak areas split at once
8 weeks
from diagnosis to final mock and re-score

Weeks 1–2: Diagnose, don't guess

Before you study anything, find out exactly which category is dragging your score down — communication, aptitude, or domain depth. Most students assume it's domain knowledge when it's actually communication, and spend two months on the wrong thing.

Weeks 3–5: One gap at a time

Resist the urge to fix everything at once. Pick the lowest-scoring category and drill it daily for three weeks before moving to the next. Splitting attention across three weak areas at once is why most last-minute prep doesn't move the needle.

  • Communication: record yourself answering common interview questions and review the playback — most people are surprised by their own filler words.
  • Aptitude: timed daily practice sets beat occasional long sessions. Consistency matters more than volume.
  • Domain: pick 3–4 likely interview topics from your target JD and go deep, rather than reviewing your entire syllabus shallowly.
Borderline isn't a talent problem. It's an eight-week problem, if you fix the right thing first.

Weeks 6–8: Mock interviews, then re-score

Run at least four mock interviews in the final two weeks, with feedback after each one. Re-check your readiness score in week 8 — if it's crossed the threshold, shift fully into interview prep. If it hasn't, you now know exactly which category still needs work, instead of guessing again.

Of the 200 students who followed a version of this plan, the ones who diagnosed correctly in week 1 closed their gap nearly twice as fast as those who started studying before finding out what was actually wrong.
