Challenge
No shared picture of who was actually at risk
A one-time pre-placement test told the cell where students stood in November — but told them nothing about how that changed week to week as season approached.
Approach
A weekly readiness review, three months out
Every Monday, the placement officer pulled a list of students whose live scores had dropped or stalled, and routed them into the relevant remediation track that same week — mock interviews, SQL bootcamps, or communication drills.
Result
A 34% relative lift, in one season
Placement rate rose from 61% to 82% year-over-year for the eligible batch. At-risk students were flagged an average of 94 days before their first interview, up from roughly 18 days the previous season — and recruiters could see a readiness number per shortlist, not just a resume.
